Rothe House Trust Ltd Online Registration and Payment System - Terms and Conditions
Before using or purchasing Irish Family History Foundation member centres' products and services, you must agree to the following terms and conditions which define your rights, responsibilities and benefits. This applies to any users of any IFHF or its member centres' datasets.
Free Access to the Indexes
On registration you have free access to this index to research your own family history. However, this access will be limited at the discretion of the IFHF and its member centres. A high volume of searches without the purchase of any records will lead to disabling of your account. Please refer to our terms and conditions. If you cannot locate the ancestors that you seek we would advise you that we also offer a full professional research service at our centres. We also offer a fixed fee for a single birth, death or marriage search from the database. Our researchers can determine which, if any, of the records relates to your ancestor as they have access to the full details. Perhaps this is a way for you to consider tracing your ancestors. If we locate an ancestor we can also check for siblings and make further research proposals.
Membership
There is no membership of the Irish Family History Foundation site or its individual centres' sites. Each record is available on a pay to view basis. Usage of the site does not imply any permanent benefit or warranty. Access to this site is at the discretion of the IFHF and its member centres.
The websites are owned and operated by the IFHF. "You" or "your" means an adult user of the online research service (ORS) for itself and you as parent or guardian for any minor who you allow to access the online research service, for whom you will held strictly responsible. Your use of the ORS indicates that you are bound by this agreement with us. If you do not agree with any of these terms and conditions do not use the site. IFHF may alter this agreement at any time. Check each time you use the site for changes to the agreement. Your continued use of the site after any change indicates your acceptance of that change. If you do not accept the change do not use the site.
Ownership of Data
All material on the websites (content) is owned, copyrighted or licensed by IFHF and its member centres.
You are licensed to review, download, and print the content only for your personal genealogical and family history research. You may not publish material from this site in whole or in part in any electronic, print or other medium, except as unique elements that are part of a unique family history or genealogy. Violation of this license may result in immediate termination of your account/membership and may result in legal action for injunction, damages, or both.
Access to the index of records requires that you first register with the Irish Family History Foundation. There is no cost involved with this registration.
To view the full details of any records that you find using the free index search you will have to purchase credit.
These terms and conditions cover both registering to use the free search and purchasing credit and in order to register you need to accept our terms and conditions.
All prices quoted are in Euro (€)
You can pay by any of the credit cards or debit cards listed on the payments page. All offers and products are subject to availability and the IFHF and its centres reserve the right to change prices without prior notification before, but not after, accepting your order. We do, therefore, undertake to honour any price (subject to product availability) quoted at the time the order was placed. This online payment system is designed to significantly reduce processing times and offer immediate access (providing payment is approved) to the IFHF databases. It provides a secure, convenient and efficient method of payment for all of our customers and clients.
The online payment system is hosted by the Realex on a secure server. This section of the web site is encrypted and we have taken every reasonable precaution to ensure that it is safe for credit and debit card transactions.
All money is paid to the Irish Family History Foundation. When making a payment you will be asked for your credit/debit card details. These are use as a one off transaction to communicate with your bank and take payment. This is done using a 3rd Party Payment Engine on a secure server, who is compliant with Visa and MasterCard's strict Online Payment procedures. Neither the IFHF nor the Rothe House Trust Ltd stores your credit card information; their staff does NOT have access to it.
When you place an order, Realex will automatically validate your credit card details. If payment is approved you will receive a confirmation message* by e-mail. Payment may be declined for security reasons. If the transaction is not authorised, you will be notified and invited to re-submit your details.
* Please note that this e-mail is a confirmation of receipt of order and not a contract agreement.
The security measures built into this system are designed to protect the IFHF and its centres, and all of their customers from fraudulent transactions and to ensure that all of our customers can use this facility with confidence.
Once you have purchased credit you may use it to view any detailed record that you find within the search. Credit must be use within 12 months of the date purchased. No refunds can be made to credit/debit cards after a 3 month period has elapsed from the time of purchase - this is a banking restriction.
You will have access to the purchased records for 6 Months from the date and time of purchase, afterwards if you view the record again you will be charged. We advise that you print or transcribe the record details to avoid this happening.
Rothe House Trust Ltd provides all content on this site without any warranty. Rothe House Trust Ltd reserves the right to terminate user access to the site. All the content in this online research system is provided "AS IS", and without any warranty of any kind.
Every care has been taken to ensure that the information included is as accurate as possible. Although this information may be based on records which have legal status, nothing in these databases have a standing in law; it is supplied purely as family research and any use made of it outside the immediate family depends entirely on the permission of the holders of copyright in the original records.
Refund Policy
Once search credits have been purchased they cannot be refunded or transferred to another customers account.
Please remember that it is possible to purchase enough for just a single record.
Purchased credit can be used to view records on any of the IFHF participating centres' sites. Please see the Online Map for details which centres are currently online.
Credit not used up within 12 months of the date purchased will be lost. You will be notified by email 3 months and 1 month before you credit is due to expired.
The IFHF or its centres' will not be held responsible for any errors or omissions of the products and services it sells. While IFHF will seek to redress matters of grievance, refunds will be granted at the sole discretion of IFHF management.
Privacy Statement
All information will be treated in the strictest confidence. While we may contact you from time to time with offers likely
to be of interest to you, it is Rothe House Trust Ltd policy not to disclose customers details to any other organisation.

The information, products and services included on online research service may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. Changes are periodically made to the information herein. IFHF and its member centres provide all content "as is", and without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent permissible by law. We do not warrant that the functions on this site will be uninterrupted or problem free, that errors will be corrected or that this site or sites or server(s) that make it available are free of viruses or other damaging materials.
While every possible care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the material held on this database, the Rothe House Trust Ltd cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions. Sample entries give you the opportunity to 'try before you buy'. Please note that while this database is extensive, we do not make any claim that it is exhaustive and cannot therefore guarantee the presence of specific records. Please check the list of sources to see if the parish and year you are interested as been computerised for any particular county.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
